It’s Time to Get Tickets for a Trio of Terrific Events

It’s special event season in the Seattle food scene. Now’s the time to get tickets for a series of events that will warm you up and get you through winter to its transition to spring.

First up is a non-annual event: the StarChefs’ Rising Stars Tasting Gala on February 18 at Block 41 in Belltown. The evening honors some of the city’s most talented up-and-coming (or, arguably, already arrived) food and beverage professionals. Among those being honored are Melissa Miranda of Musang, Shota Nakajima of Adana, Maximillian Petty of Eden Hill, and Mutsuko Soma of Kamonegi.

Hardcore event-goers get to digest for a day before the start of the three-day Seattle Wine and Food Experience. February 20 brings the Comfort event at Sodo Park, featuring familiar feel-good food (including a French fry bar). Things turn more upscale the next day at the Pop! Bubbles + Seafood event, taking place at the Great Hall at Union Station. The overall event culminates with the Grand Tasting on February 22 at the Bell Harbor Conference Center, combining gourmet bites with other culinary experiences.

One month later is the highly awaited, four-day Taste Washington extravaganza, running March 19-22. The fabulous Feast Portland team has revamped the event, extending it well beyond the weekend Grand Tasting event—which itself promises to be better than in the past. New features include a dinner series with intriguing chef pairings as well as a Sunday brunch offering.
