This week, Serious Eats posted my story about this sandwich at Yardbird Southern Table & Bar. An excerpt:
Who needs bread when you’ve got perfectly fried breading, like the type you’ll find on the green tomato that forms the base of Yardbird’s Fried Green Tomato BLT ($12)? That tomato is a generous one, sliced thick, but it’s not the only tomato that appears on this “sandwich.”

The rest of the meal was also delicious, including:
- Sweet Summer Zellwood FL Corn Soup with crispy morel mushrooms, Florida blue crab dumpling ($11)
- “Swine Steak Frites”–char-grilled Niman Ranch pork skirt steak with grit frites, smoked plantain BBQ sauce,
crispy pig ears, Creole squash slaw ($21)
- Abita Rootbeer cake with milk stout ice cream and smokey cream ($8)
