As we head into the voting season, coming up will be one of the most important and interesting votes: Best Loin Taste.
One month from today, the lamb lies down, not on Broadway, but at the Bell Harbor Conference Center on the waterfront, for a lamb-tasting contest. Actually, not just one lamb, but many, as 15 restaurants (all participating in Dine Around Seattle in November) will be paired with 15 award-winning Washington wineries in an event that’s being billed as the first annual “American Lamb Jam Seattle.”
The entry fee of $30 makes you a “lambassador,” giving you an opportunity to compare notes with some noted judges (yours truly included!) in voting for not only best loin taste, but other categories—including best tasting shoulder, leg and shank, as well as most creative dish, best wine pairing, and best of show.
The participating restaurants:
- Art Restaurant
- Barking Frog
- Campagne
- Eva Restaurant
- Flying Fish
- Hunt Club
- Lola
- Monsoon East
- Nell’s Restaurant
- Ponti Seafood Grill
- Ray’s Boathouse
- Serafina Osteria & Enotec
- Steelhead Diner
- Szmania’s
- …and one more
And the wineries:
- Brian Carter Cellars
- Buried Cane
- Buty Winery
- Camaraderie Cellars
- Col Solare Winery
- DeLille Cellars
- Donedei Wines
- Efeste
- Forgeron Cellars
- J. Bookwalter Winery
- Kiona Vineyards Winery
- McCrea Cellars
- Northstar Winery
