Twitter dinner with James Beard’s Best Chefs NW

After my typical restaurant meal, I usually have plenty of time afterward to excruciatingly choose the words that best describe the dining experience.

That won’t be the case this coming Monday night.

Technology permitting, I will be part of a small group of food writers tweeting while eating what promises to be a pretty special dinner. This year’s five James Beard nominees for Best Chef Northwest will come together at Crush to strut their stuff—and I’ll be there with Twittering device in hand. Or lap. Actually, I’m contemplating whether to pay someone to spoon-feed me so that I can keep my fingers dancing on the keyboard, describing each of the dishes, the reactions, and the overall atmosphere. After all, I want you to be part of the virtual dinner, featuring food from:

  • Maria Hines of Tilth
  • Joseba Jiménez de Jiménez of Harvest Vine and Txori,
  • Ethan Stowell of Union, Tavolata, How to Cook a Wolf, and Anchovies & Olives (pictured)
  • Jason Wilson of Crush
  • Cathy Whims of Nostrana (in Portland)

You don’t even need to have a Twitter account to follow along. Simply go to: http://www.eventchatter.com/events/25 on Monday night. I believe you’ll be able to add your commentary, and therefore have a seat at the “table.”
