Jamba Out of Juice in Queen Anne

December 9th, 2008 · 4 Comments

Just one week left for the Jamba Juice location on Queen Anne. We loved them when we first learned about them, but it seems like a long time since we’ve partaken in their protein powders and Peach Pleasures.

With a new year approaching, we’re wondering what we’d like to see move into the vacated store. What would bring a little spark to the kinda conservative Queen Anne culinary scene?

Hmm…how about a pho place, like Than Brothers? (Yes, there’s pho at the bottom of the hill, but nothing at the top.) A real New York style pizza place? (Might as well dream about New York bagels, too, or a New York style deli.) Something ethnically interesting? Please?

Our fear: It’ll turn into another coffee joint. Maybe a smoothie/juice joint isn’t so bad after all.

Cross posted at Seattlest, where “we” = me.

If you’re ever in the north, check out Alive Juice Bar in Shoreline (right off I5 North – exit 177).

You won’t be disappointed. Everything is freshly homemade, the owners (a couple) are knowledgeable (husband is a little eccentric and wife is intense — both are a little crazy obsessed with food, knowledge, nutrition, and customer service). They’re open early and close late (something like 6Am to 10 or 11PM).

I talked to the owner and she said their website is under construction, but you can read reviews on Yelp and find them on Facebook. They have quite the following.

Thanks, Brian. I’ll make note of that for my to-do list (and will try to remember next time I’m up north!).
